Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever struggled again on Sunday afternoon and picked up their second straight loss.
The Fever, despite leading by double digits early and tying the game back up late in the fourth quarter, fell 89-81 to A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday. That dropped the Fever to 6-7 on the season and gave them their third loss in five games. It also marked the Fever’s 16th straight loss to the Aces.

Clark, who missed time earlier this season with a quad injury, really struggled offensively in Thursday’s loss to the Valkyries. She shot just 3-of-14 from the field and missed all seven of her attempts from behind the arc in San Francisco, and finished with just 11 points.
It wasn’t quite as bad on Sunday, but it still wasn’t great. Clark finished with 19 points on 7 of 20 shooting, including just 1 of 10 from 3-point range. But the Fever, thanks to 18 first-half points from Boston, still held a six-point lead at the break.
But the Fever, after leading by as many as 10, carried just a three-point lead into the fourth quarter. Wilson, who managed just six points in the first half, put up eight in the period to close the gap. The Aces then immediately took the lead with a 5-0 burst to open the fourth quarter. That surge continued, and the Aces pushed it to an 11-2 run — 16-2 if you go back into the end of the third quarter — to grab a six-point lead of their own and force an Indiana timeout not even halfway through the fourth quarter.
Though the Fever tied it up one last time, the Aces flew ahead one last time without issue. They used a 15-6 run to take control of the game right back before cruising to the seven-point win.
Wilson led the Aces with 24 points and seven rebounds, though she shot just 8-of-21 from the field. All but six of her points came in the second half, and she missed 11 of her first 13 field goal attempts. Jackie Young added 19 points and seven rebounds, and Chelsea Gray finished with 18 points. The Aces, who entered Sunday’s game having lost five of their last six, sit at 6-7 on the season.
Boston finished with 26 points and 10 rebounds in the loss for the Fever. Kelsey Mitchell added 20 points. Clark had a double-double with 11 assists to go with her 19 points. It marked the 18th double-double of her career, but she’s now missed 16 of her last 17 3-point attempts.
The Fever will be back in action on Tuesday night in Seattle, where a loss would match their longest losing skid of the season.
Caitlin Clark’s Meeting With Cheryl Miller Turns Heads on Sunday
The Indiana Fever continue to be known as one of the most exciting teams in the WNBA, led by guard Caitlin Clark.
