Robert Griffin III makes Angel Reese accusation as Caitlin Clark dragged into feud

Robert Griffin III took an interesting approach to condemning hate that Angel Reese is said to have received in recent days while bashing and making accusations against her on social media

Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III has accused Angel Reese of being a reason for him and his family ‘receiving death threats’ right after he condemned racial abuse that the WNBA star is said to have received.

Reese is believed to have been on the receiving end of racist comments since she was revealed as the cover star for the new NBA 2K26 game to be released this summer.

Griffin posted a statement standing up for Reese and speaking out against the vile messages, before quickly turning on her in the same post. He made several accusations and insinuated that some of her close friends are in agreement with him rather than her.

Griffin III posted: “Alright. This has got to stop. There is no place for racism in this world. Whether you like a player or not. Angel Reese should never be called or depicted as a Monkey.”

The former NFL quarterback then quickly turned his post to targeting Reese himself, accusing her of sharing a video that led to him receiving ‘death threats’ and ‘physical harm’ to him and his family.

He continued: “I have been quiet on the Angel Reese front because she shared a video that aided in my wife, kids, family and friends receiving death threats, threats of physical harm to my family and friends and threats of sexual violence to my children on social media and beyond.

“That will never be okay with me. I never attacked her or her family when I stated and backed up with clear basketball evidence that Angel Reese hates Caitlin Clark. It’s sports. Everybody won’t like each other.

“People in Angel’s inner circle called me and told me I was right and Angel Reese has grown to hate Caitlin Clark because of the media always asking her about Caitlin and being constantly compared to her.

“Some people made it about race, but I never did and never will. Instead of becoming the villain in anyone’s story, I decided to just not. All that being said, Angel Reese or any Black man or woman should never be called or depicted as a Monkey. Ever.”

The post did not sit well with many fans, with a number of individuals claiming the former quarterback to have used an incident of her being racially abused to give him an opportunity to speak out against her actions towards him.

Reese herself had indirectly responded, stating: “Lying on this app when everybody know the first and last name of everybody in my circle for clout is nastyyyy work.”

The back and forth between Griffin III and Reese had initially come after the former had accused Reese of hating Clark.

He said: “After watching Caitlin Clark’s flagrant foul on Angel Reese and the aftermath, there is no way Angel Reese can continue the lie that she doesn’t dislike Caitlin Clark. I know what hatred looks like. Angel Reese HATES Caitlin Clark. Not some basketball rivalry hate either. Hate.”
