WNBA stars’ Caitlin Clark jealousy reaches new low with scandalous act

 

Caitlin Clark received a huge honor this week as she was named a WNBA All-Star Game captain, but her WNBA peers evidently do not hold her in the same esteem.

Clark and Lynx star Napheesa Collier received the most votes from fans for the All-Star Game, with the pair set to draft their teams ahead of the contest on July 19.

But it was revealed on Monday that Clark received just the ninth-most votes among guards in the player vote, with the likes of Allisha Gray, Sabrina Ionescu and rookie Paige Bueckers ahead of her.

The former Iowa star did place third in the media vote, though fans and media alike slammed her poor showing in the player vote.

‘Absolutely PURE JEALOUSY that ⁦@WNBA⁩ players voted Caitlin Clark the 9th best guard,’ ESPN commentator Dick Vitale said on X.

‘Some day they will realize what she Has done for ALL of the players in the WNBA . Charted planes – increase in salaries-sold out crowds – improved TV Ratings.’

Jason Whitlock added: ‘Yeah, they hate Cait.’

A fan said: ‘She’s easily the best player in the league. These girls are laughable.’

And supporter chimed in: ‘That’s ok, let her game do the talking. If she stays healthy and continues to improve, the accolades will come her way.’

Clark’s numbers have largely worsened from her record-breaking Rookie of the Year campaign, as her points have dropped from 19.2 to 18.2 per contest, and her three-point percentage has gone from 34.4 to 29.5.

She is also coughing up 5.9 turnovers per game (slightly more than last year), though her assists have ticked up from 8.4 to 8.9.

Regardless, some have claimed that the Fever star has been mistreated by her WNBA peers, who have continued to be rough her up in her second season.

Women’s basketball legend Cheryl Miller claimed in March that Clark was ‘despised’ by some in the WNBA community because of her race.

‘I know what it’s like to be hated. I know what it’s like to be a black woman and hated because of my color. I can’t imagine this young lady – I don’t wanna use ‘hate’ but despised…,’ Miller said on All the Smoke.

Miller’s comments came after Washington Mystics co-owner Sheila Johnson attributed Clark’s race to her winning TIME Magazine’s Athlete of the Year award.

Clark has endured a difficult season this year, as she’s appeared in just nine of the Fever’s 16 games due to injury.

The guard has been deemed questionable for their Commissioner’s Cup championship against the Lynx on Tuesday.
