Caitlin Clark

Unfortunate Caitlin Clark news revealed by Fever head coach Stephanie White

Just when it felt like the Indiana Fever were building real momentum, the basketball gods slapped all of us Caitlin Clark fans in the face.

The Fever were back home Thursday night, gearing up for a nationally anticipated back-to-back: Sparks on Thursday, then the Dallas Wings Friday — a game hyped up for a potential Clark vs. Paige Bueckers showdown. That’s on hold now, and so is the Fever’s shot at riding their franchise player to another win.

This news broke like a thunderbolt through the WNBA world, and Fever head coach Stephanie White addressed it pregame.

Stephanie White on Caitlin Clark

Translation: They don’t really know. Which means we’re all going to be checking our phones every five seconds until Friday night to see if Caitlin Clark is suiting up or not.

When asked about her availability for the Dallas game — the second night of the back-to-back — White didn’t rule it out completely.

“C’s shown that she’s tough and she’s a quick healer, so we’ll see,” she added.

We have seen that before. Clark already missed five games earlier this year with a quad issue, and if there’s one thing she’s proven, it’s that she’s not soft. She fights through everything. If there’s any chance she can go, she’ll be out there.

Clark’s All-Star Season Still Rolling

Even with the injuries, Clark is still putting up absurd numbers in her first season with Stephanie White:
📊 18.2 PPG
📊 5.0 RPG
📊 8.9 APG

This is no longer an adjustment period for Clark. This is a generational talent already dominating — and she’s doing it with a target on her back every single night.

Despite the missed time, she’s still on pace to be an All-Star for the second straight season. That’s not even up for debate. Nobody moves the needle like Caitlin Clark. She’s the league’s biggest draw. And now the entire basketball world will be holding their breath until we know if she’s back Friday.
