Rachel DeMita has lost her job.
In June 2024, DeMita, a sports influencer with more than 1 million followers on social media, landed an exclusive courtside commentator position for the BIG3. She was tasked with giving basketball fans a behind-the-scenes look into the upstart basketball league and amplifying the voices of the star-studded league.
Unfortunately, her career there would only last one year.
DeMita is no longer with Big3 after she tweeted about Caitlin Clark’s highlights happening at the same time as a game she was working on, per Front Office Sports.
The “final straw” that led to the parting was when DeMita tweeted about Caitlin Clark’s highlights this past Saturday during a game where she was working as a courtside correspondent, per the publication.

On her X account, Rachel DeMita posted Caitlin Clark knocking down a logo three-pointer while she was actively working a Big3 game.
That tweet clearly didn’t sit well with league brass.
DeMita, a well-known basketball influencer with a massive online following, told Fox News Digital in 2024 that her role was “a little different than your traditional sideline reporter. “She explained that her focus was also on producing social content and behind-the-scenes footage that could draw fans deeper into the league’s culture.
Clearly, the higher-ups did not like her tweeting about the WNBA and highlighting another league.

Rachel DeMita doesn’t have a job anymore because of her love for Caitlin Clark.
Rachel DeMita, a former WNBA player and social media influencer, made that clear in 2024 when she posted a video on her Instagram account expressing support for Clark and stating that she believes the WNBA is becoming embarrassing. She also mentioned that many WNBA players do not like Clark.
DeMita further praised Clark’s popularity and mentioned that Clark is the main reason for the increase in ticket prices and viewership of the WNBA games.
Hopefully, Caitlin will reach out to her.
