Angel Reese Punishment Looms Amid Controversial Incident

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese complaining to a refChicago Sky forward Angel Reese (Angel Reese)
Chicago Sky star Angel Reese is having a spectacular second season, but she is still facing punishment following her recent actions.

Reese is completely over the WNBA refs.

Reese, who is typically mum on the subject, took several moments following a matchup with the Minnesota Lynx to voice her displeasure.

“It’s tough when you talk to officials, and I ask them, ‘We’ve only been to the free throw line twice up until the fourth quarter,’ and she tells me it’s not her job,” the second-year forward stated.

“That has to be fixed, and I don’t give a damn if I get fined because that [expletive] cheap, and I am tired of the [expletive]. Because I’ve been nice, and I’ve been humble with it, but I am tired of the [expletive].”

Angel Reese then took her frustrations to X, formerly Twitter, and posted a simple one-word tweet over a photo of her being fouled by several Lynx players. “Diabolical,” she wrote.

Reese, who starred collegiately at LSU and Maryland, then responded to possibly being fined by adding, “IDGAF. DO BETTER.”

A fine is surely coming for her.

While balancing this new offensive role, Reese has remained a dominant rebounder, averaging 8.3 defensive rebounds and 4.3 offensive rebounds per game. Reese is already ninth on the franchise’s all-time rebounding list in only her second season with the Sky.

Sky Forward Angel Reese Named 2025 WNBA All-Star

Reese will be the Chicago Sky’s sole representative at WNBA All-Star weekend after her second consecutive selection as a reserve.

Reese leads the league in rebounding with 12.6 per game, averaging 12.4 points and 3.8 assists. Her average of 1.8 steals per game is the fifth-highest in the WNBA.

This has been a season of growth for Reese, who has been asked to do much more in the Sky’s new offense under first-year head coach Tyler Marsh.

Things started out rough in the first five games when she averaged only 9.1 points per game while logging more turnovers than assists. Things picked up for her last month.

Reese dropped 17 points against the New York Liberty and then logged a triple-double days later.

Over the last nine games, Angel Reese has averaged 15 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game, shooting at an improved 47.1% from the floor.
