Cardi B’s Reaction To Her 6-Year-Old Daughter Drawing On Her $60,000 Hermès Purse Has Left People Super Divided

The rapper has long been open about her lavish lifestyle, reminding everyone last year that she spends an estimated $3 million per month.

In a now-expired Instagram story, Cardi showed off a yellow crocodile-skin Birkin. “I literally spent 60,000 [dollars] on this purse. Look what my daughter did to my purse. Look what my daughter did to my purse,” she repeated in disbelief. As she zoomed in, a tiny heart drawn in ballpoint pen became visible.

“Look what my daughter did to my fucking purse. Look—” she said, cutting herself off with a suppressed sigh. And if you have kids, you probably know exactly what that “Mmm” means: the sweet sound of swallowing your anger so you don’t go ballistic on a first-grader.

Fans online had lots to say, with many suggesting that Kulture’s addition to the bag just made it all the more valuable. “am I the only one that thinks it’s lowkey so cute 😭 like now it’s worth even more because her daughter drew a little heart on it and she’ll always be w her when she goes out with this purse, 🥺🥺🥺” one person wrote.

Others pointed out that a little heart scribble was probably exactly what Jane Birkin would have wanted. “That’s kind of the point of the Birkin,” another added. However, a lot of users criticized Cardi for spending $60,000 on a bag in the first place. “Proves just how ridiculous it is to spend 60k on a purse,” one said, before another chimed in, “Every time I see a birkin I get mad, why would that be 60k and why would you be okay with that price?”

If you don’t remember, Cardi came under fire on Kulture’s second birthday after Offset gifted their daughter a pink Hermès Birkin bag that retails for around $8,000. Folks online criticized the couple for the amount of money spent on a 2-year-old, to which Cardi responded, “If I’m fly and daddy’s fly, then so is the kid.”

Well, while Kulture may not have been super interested in a Birkin at 2 years old, she’s definitely made her mark on one now. On Sunday, Cardi took to Instagram to show off a dessert that she and Kulture had made together, and it was super cute. But immediately after, Cardi uploaded a video showing Kulture’s latest work, and it’s safe to say from the tone of her voice, she was trying not to completely crash out.
