The Indiana Fever are in the midst of training camp for the 2025 WNBA season, as the franchise hopes to cement itself as contenders with Caitlin Clark leading the charge. Outside Caitlin, the Fever has a strong roster featuring championship veterans such as DeWanna Bonner and Natasha Howard, while Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell are expected to provide major contributions as well.
While they might not be the biggest threats to reigning champions New York Liberty, the Fever will be a hard team to beat all season. The team views its goals this season to be ‘bigger than basketball.’ They hammered this home as they announced the team’s slogan for the season on Instagram.
“We are a team driven by passion, pride, and the pursuit of greatness. It’s bigger than basketball. This isn’t a moment, it’s a movement.#NowYouKnow”
Fans rallied behind the team’s slogan, sharing their excitement in the comments section.
“This is the energy I want to see! Y’all have IT, let it be known.”
“This goes hard!”
“Gonna be something to contend with this year.”
“Yuh!!! Let’s Freaking Go!!!”
“I am JACKED for this season!!!!”
“Gonna have a lot of all-stars on this team this season and these are just three of them.”
“Oooooh this season is about to be absolute fire!! Go Fever! #NowYouKnow.”
The Fever finished last season 20-20 and were a first-round playoff exit, but impressed fans around the world. Clark and Boston found strong chemistry together, which should only improve, especially with veterans like Bonner and Howard in the locker room.
Players such as Sophie Cunningham could make a significant impact as well, and if everything goes right, the Fever could make a deep playoff run. Predicting a Finals appearance or a title win is foolhardy, but it’s clear the franchise is taking the right steps toward establishing itself as a perennial threat with the sport’s biggest superstar.
