Travis Kelce’s Famous Neighbor Reveals Major Secret About Taylor Swift Romance
Travis Kelce’s next-door neighbor, reality star Wes Bergmann, is revealing secrets about the couple’s relationship.
Bergmann — who won MTV’s The Challenge twice before starring on The Traitors — lives at the same “exclusive gated community” as the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, according to People.
The TV personality appeared on a recent episode of The Social Game podcast, claiming that the NFL star and pop icon, both 35, were dating months before she showed up at the September 15, 2023 Chiefs game vs. the Cincinnati Bengals — the first indication that the couple were dating. (The A-list pair confirmed their romance that October by holding hands in New York City following Kelce’s Saturday Night Live appearance.)
“He’s an enigma — on one hand, he’s like this big, tough football player. On the other, he’s going to have about 12 Taylor Swift songs written about him,” Bergmann quipped of the three-time Super Bowl winner, before diving into his own intel.
“I was like the first person to know about any of this stuff and I tried to tell this woman [The Social Game host Michele Fitzgerald] a long time ago,” he said. “‘They are together, just so you know’ and she didn’t believe it.”
Bergmann claimed that he “beat the validating of [Swift] showing up to games and stuff by like six months,” adding that Fitzgerald didn’t believe him because of her beliefs that the 14-time Grammy winner only dated “brooding artists.”
After her six-year romance with Joe Alwyn came to an end in April 2023, Swift briefly dated The 1975 frontman Matty Healy beginning that May; they split early June 2023. Kelce attended Swift’s July 8, 2023 Eras Tour show in Kansas City, during which he famously attempted to give her his number via a friendship bracelet.
Several weeks later, on the July 26, 2023 episode of New Heights — his podcast with brother Jason Kelce — Travis revealed that he was “disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings” during her epic Eras setlist.
Swift later revealed that it was this moment — “when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” she told Time magazine in December 2023 — that was the catalyst for their romance.
“We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other,” Swift explained. “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
