Concerning Photo Emerges of Caitlin Clark Draft Pick Before All-Star Game
Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark and Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier, the two 2025 WNBA All-Star captains, drafted their All-Star rosters on Tuesday. Each of them selected four starters and six reserves.
Among the starters Clark picked was Las Vegas Aces center and three-time MVP A’ja Wilson. She averages 20.7 points. 8.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game this season.
However, during Tuesday’s game against the New York Liberty, Wilson was fouled on a strong drive to the basket in the second quarter, falling on her right wrist. The Aces lost to the Liberty 87-78.
Clark’s All-Star roster now faces concern as Wilson underwent an MRI on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, during team warmups for the Aces’ Thursday night matchup against the Washington Mystics, a new photo emerged of Wilson wearing a brace on her injured right wrist during shootaround
She was listed as out for Thursday’s game, and remains questionable to participate in the 2024 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game on July 19.
The absence of Wilson’s presence in the All-Star game would deal a big blow to the shaping of Clark’s team. The Eastern Conference captain drafted Wilson as her third starter, right behind Fever teammate Aliyah Boston and Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu.
Should Wilson be ineligible to play in the big game, Clark drafted three reserve forwards who could attempt to fill the MVP center’s void. Seattle Storm forward Gabby Williams, Mystics forward Kiki Iriafen and Golden State Valkyries forward Kayla Thornton are on deck to promote size on the court for team Clark next weekend.
Ultimately, it will be up to WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert to select a replacement if Wilson can’t play.
