Investigations into the Air India plane crash are looking into the pilot of the aircraft, who may have had some demons in his life that may have led to the tragedy.
New and troubling questions are emerging about what caused the crash that killed 260 people.
Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, an experienced pilot with more than 8,200 hours in the cockpit, was piloting the Boeing 787 Dreamliner when the plane went down.
The 56-year-old veteran pilot of the doomed flight did not drink, never swore, was a committed captain, and a doting son to his elderly father.
Peeling back the layers, however, he seemed to have some issues.
Captain Mohan Ranganathan, a leading aviation safety expert in India, has revealed that ‘several’ Air India pilots had allegedly confirmed that the pilot suffered.
Sabharwal, who had more than 15,000 flying hours under his belt at the time of the tragedy, had taken medical leave in recent years due to apparent mental health woes, the Telegraph reported.
Unfortunately, he was weighed down by the death of his mother, navigating life after separating from his wife, and he wanted to quit the airline to spend more time at home.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, Captain Mohan Ranganathan, a leading aviation safety expert in India, claimed: ‘He had taken time off from flying in the last three to four years. He had taken medical leave for that.”
The Air India pilot is also understood to have taken bereavement leave after the death of his mother, though it is believed by Mr Ranganathan that he had been ‘medically cleared’ by Air India prior to the fatal crash last month.
Did The Pilot Deliberately Cut Air India Flight’s Fuel Supplies?

The captain of the doomed Air India flight that crashed last month likely cut off the flow of fuel to the plane’s engines.
His actions led to his first officer questioning why, just moments before the jet went down, US officials believe.
A black box cockpit recording of the two pilots suggests that Captain Sumeet Sabharwal was responsible for moving the fuel switches to the “cutoff” position just seconds after the Boeing 787 Dreamliner lifted off the runway in Ahmedabad, India, on June 12, The Wall Street Journal reported.
First Officer Clive Kunder expressed “surprise” and then “panicked” as he asked the captain why he’d moved the fuel switches.
On the other hand, the captain appeared to remain calm as he denied doing so
