WNBA superstar Sophie Cunningham leaves fans stunned with wild comment about Caitlin Clark’s ‘smell’
Sophie Cunningham sent social media into a tailspin on Friday night by bizarrely claiming that WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark smells like… a goat.
Cunningham joined Clark at the Indiana Fever ahead of the current season and the pair have hit it off both on and off the court – becoming friends as well as teammates.
And Cunningham joked that she has got closer than most to Clark in a wild social media post on Friday night, describing out of nowhere how the basketball sensation smells.
Cunningham’s comment came in response to a fan posting two pictures of her – one with Clark and another with a small baby goat.
The fan’s caption to the photo was ‘these are the same picture’, referencing Clark’s growing reputation as the GOAT – greatest of all-time.
In response, Cunningham was her usual mischievous self and simply wrote: ‘They smell the same too’.

Cunningham gets closer than most fans to Clark, and revealed all about her ‘smell’ on Friday
Perhaps unsurprisingly, social media went wild and the post quickly racked up well over 2 million views in under two hours of being posted.
One fan replied, ‘OH SNAPPPPP’, while another added: ‘I feel like this is the most unhinged reply I’ve ever seen.’
Cunningham is due to play for the Fever against Washington tonight, but the team are once again without Clark, who remains injured and is missing her 12th straight game with a groin issue.
It remains unclear exactly when she will return to the court, and Clark is now in uncharted territory having not missed a game through the entirety of her college career or first year in the WNBA.
‘I’ve never been through anything like this, which is probably why it’s been so hard,’ Clark said recently on an episode of the Bird’s Eye View podcast.
‘I’ve never really dealt with injury. It’s probably been a challenge in itself because when I was first feeling pain, I didn’t understand it.’
