Netflix has released the official trailer for Squid Game season 3 and has dropped a hint about what the next game will be.

Netflix released several new trailers during the Netflix Tudum 2025 live event, which gave fans sneak peeks into shows like Squid Game, Wednesday and Stranger Things.

Squid Game fans were thrilled to get a major insight into the final installment of the popular South Korean TV series, as they quickly took to social media to unpack the trailer.

Netflix viewers noticed a potential spoiler for season 3, spotting a clue to what the next game is likely to be.

In the trailer, we see that Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) will finally come face to face with the Frontman, aka Hwang In-ho (Lee Byung-hun).

However, another clip appeared to confirm the next game, as we see the familiar giant doll from Red Light, Green Light holding a skipping rope.

This has led fans to conclude that the remaining players will be forced to play a deadly game of jump rope.

“JUMP ROPEE????????????” one person guessed in the YouTube comments section.

Another revealed: “Jumping rope korean game song is kkomaya kkomaya, which means child! child!. I’ve played the game a lot when i was in an elementary school.” (sic)

Another predicted: “The jump rope game might give us a hint of memory from glass bridge and its heights…” (sic)

While one more fan thought they spotted hints that the players would be participating in two familiar children’s games, exclaiming: “OMG JUMP ROPE?? AND LASER TAG?? THIS IS GIVING ME GOOSEBUMPS.”

One viewer gave a very detailed breakdown of how they believed the game would play out, writing: “The jump rope game doesn’t seem to be just a simple jump rope game. Based on the short part of the song we heard, it appears to be inspired by a traditional Korean children’s game called ‘Kkomaya Kkomaya’ (which means ‘Little friend, little friend’ in Korean).

“While jumping rope, players are likely required to perform small actions in sync with the lyrics—things like ‘Little friend, little friend, turn around, turn and turn, touch the ground, touch it and touch it, shout hooray, shout it, shout it, farewell’.

Since it’s a game I used to play often with my friends when I was young, the melody sounded really familiar—so I decided to share this little guess!” (sic)

Meanwhile on Reddit, fans were losing their minds over the new trailer, describing it as Netflix’s ‘best yet’.

One penned: “Ok so it’s confirmed jump rope, and does my queen junhee give up?! AND GI-HUN COMES FACE TO FACE WITH THE FRONTMAN IN A VIP SUIT?! WHAT IS GOING ON???” (sic)

Another enthused: “He is meeting In-ho. This scene is going to be absolute cinema.”

While one more on X gushed: “”OMG, already? June 27 can’t come soon enough—my calendar is set.”
