Caitlin Clark Facing Backlash Following Fever-Valkyries Game
The 2025 WNBA season has been a rough and disappointing one for the Indiana Fever and star guard Caitlin Clark so far. She has dealt with multiple injury issues this year and has been forced to miss quite a few games.
To this point in the season, following Wednesday’s loss to the Golden State Valkyries, the Fever are just 9-10. Clark has only played in 10 of the team’s 19 games.

Despite Clark’s return against the Valkyries, the team ended up losing by a final score of 80-61.
In the loss, Clark did not play well. She scored 10 points on 4-for-12 shooting to go along with six assists, five rebounds, and four turnovers. Those numbers did not live up to the hype of her return.

Clark was not the only one who struggled for Indiana. The entire team had a hard time scoring the basketball, shooting just 30.9 percent from the floor overall and connecting on just 22.2 percent of their three-point attempts.
Following the rough outing for Clark, she is facing major backlash. Fans did not hold back jumping to social media comments about her lackluster performance.
“Better without her,” one fan commented.
A second fan chimed in, “Angel Reese better.”
“She averaging 6 turnovers per game and shooting under 30% percent from this season,” a third comment read
A fourth comment said, “played 25 min and still managed to turn the ball over 4 times.”
“They figured her out,” a fifth fan wrote.
Having a bad game happens to every player in every sport. Clark has had a rough season compared to her rookie year, but the fan hate is a bit overboard.
That being said, there are some reasons to be concerned about Clark. She has looked tired and beat up at times this season. Her numbers have not been good
Through her first 10 games this season, Clark has averaged 17.4 points, 8.6 assists, five rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 5.7 turnovers per game. She has shot just 38.6 percent from the floor and 30.1 percent from the three-point line.
Obviously, those numbers are a far cry from the MVP-caliber season she was expected to put together for the Fever.
Next up for Indiana and Clark will be a matchup at home against the Atlanta Dream on Friday night. They will be looking to bounce back strong from their disappointing loss to Golden State.
