Cameras caught Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark trying her hand at coaching during Friday night’s game against the Dallas Wings as she continues to recover from a groin injury.

Ahead of Friday’s contest against the Wings, the Fever announced on X/Twitter that Caitlin Clark would miss her second straight game with a groin injury. The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year was also sidelined for Thursday night’s home game against the Los Angeles Sparks, an 85-75 loss at home.

Despite Clark’s absence, the Fever (8-8) turned in one of their best performances of the young 2025 season, defeating the Wings 85-75 to return to .500. Indiana and the Washington Mystics are tied for the seventh and eighth seeds, half a game behind the Golden State Valkyries (8-7) for sixth in the league standings.

Caitlin Clark may have been injured, but she found another way to make an impact in the Fever-Wings game. Fan cameras showed Clark coaching her players during a stoppage in play, with her teammates fully locked in and focused:

Kelsey Mitchell led the way for the Fever with a game-high 32 points, seven assists and three rebounds in the victory. Aliyah Boston (21 points), Natasha Howard (15 points) and Aari McDonald (13 points) also finished with double digits.

The Fever will have three days off before returning to the court on Tuesday night against the league-leading Minnesota Lynx (13-2). After that, they’ll begin a five-game homestand against the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday.
