Fever’s Caitlin Clark to miss Tuesday’s game against the Dream, but ‘ramping back up’ in practice, per coach
Indiana coach Stephanie White told reporters Monday that Clark and Sophie Cunningham are both limited in practice
Caitlin Clark is staying on the sideline for now. The Indiana Fever guard, who has been out since May 26 with a left quad injury, will miss the Fever’s game against the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday, Indiana coach Stephanie White said Monday.
White told reporters that Clark had been limited in practice, participating in some drills but not all. Clark, who was set to be reevaluated this weekend, has not been totally cleared but is “ready to start ramping back up,” per White.
“It’s completely different when you’re just doing one-on-one workouts and when you’re out there in five-on-five, getting up and down the floor, moving laterally,” White said. “We’re gonna be smart, and we’re gonna be cautious, and we’re gonna play the long game and work her back in very intentionally.”
Sophie Cunningham, another Fever guard who has been out due to injury, has also been limited in practice with an ankle injury, with White once again pointing to being cautious.
“This is an injury that she’s aggravated a few times now this season, so making sure we’re playing the long game and doing it the right way,” White said.

Clark has already missed four games due to the injury, which she suffered in Indiana’s loss to the New York Liberty on May 24. Last week, Clark said that she didn’t want to “rush” back unless necessary.
White echoed that sentiment on Monday, adding that she wanted to get both Clark and Cunningham back “in basketball condition.”
“Both of them being out for long periods of time, you gotta work your way back into being game-ready,” she said.”
The Fever, with a 4-4 record, currently sit in seventh in the WNBA standings. They are 2-2 without Clark.
