This is a huge win for those of us who actually want a functioning government…

“It is sad, a sad day when our government would fire some good employee, and say it was based on performance, when they know good and well, that’s a lie,” stated U.S. District Judge William Alsup.

He wrote that the departments of Veterans Affairs, Defense, Energy, Interior, Agriculture, and Treasury must “offer reinstatement to any and all probationary employees terminated on or about February 13.”

February 13th was when Trump’s Office of Personnel Management directed department and agency heads to begin the mass firings.

Probationary workers are those who have been hired or promoted in the last year or two. In other words, they are some of the most valuable workers in our government. If you’ve been recently promoted it’s because you’re doing a great job — not because you’re disposable.

Judge Alsup bluntly stated that the firing directive was illegal and added that terminations in general can be permitted as long as “it’s done correctly under the law.”

Additionally, the judge asked for a list of all the probationary employees who were fired as well as an explanation of what each department and agency is doing to complying with his order

Tell Trump: Don’t criminalize Habitat for Humanity!

FBI director Kash Patel is moving to criminalize nonprofits like Habitat for Humanity, all because they received EPA funding grants from the Biden administration, as revealed in a court filing by Citibank that showed they were told to freeze several accounts for “conspiracy to defraud the United States.”

“The FBI has told Citibank that recipients of EPA climate grants are being considered as potentially liable for fraud. That is, the Trump administration wants to criminalize work on climate science and impacts,” the @capitolhunters account wrote Wednesday on Twitter. “An incoming administration not only cancels federal grants but declares recipients as criminals. All these grantees applied under government calls FOR ENVIRONMENTAL WORK, were reviewed and accepted. Trump wants to jail them.“

Demand Kash Patel drop his case against nonprofits!

A total of 28 organizations are being targeted by Trump’s FBI, including Habitat for Humanity — the beloved nonprofit that helps build affordable housing for Americans in need. As housing prices soar through the roof, their work is needed more than ever before, but Trump would treat them like criminals just for receiving EPA grants.

Climate change is real, and punishing all the nonprofits in the world won’t change that. This is an outrageous display of partisan retribution entirely unbefitting the FBI, which should be busy investigating REAL crimes, not bullying nonprofits.
