Exposed: WNBA Superstars’ Stunningly Low All-Star Game Pay Revealed

WNBA All-Star Game signagePlaying in the  WNBA All-Star Game offers some financial perks, but it pales in comparison to what players get from the men’s game.

This year’s competition promises to be an entertaining one for fans of women’s basketball, with the likes of Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, Sabrina Ionescu, and Napheesa Collier among those set to be on show on July 19.

Players will receive a bonus for participating, but according to a report from Front Office Sports, it’s not going to be much.

The outlet has revealed that all players will be paid an extra $2,575 whether or not their team wins. The MVP will receive an additional $5,150, while the three-point and skill competition winners will earn another $2,575.

As noted above, the sums involved are far from what NBA players earn for All-Star participation.

The 2025 NBA All-Star Game had a prize pool of $1.8 million, and competitors earned a minimum of $25,000 each. The runners-up earned $50,000, and the winners took home $125,000 each.

On a brighter note, where the WNBA All-Star Game is concerned, players will also receive bonuses from Aflac. The insurance company will pay a total of $115,000 to individual contest winners – the winner of the three-point showdown will receive an additional $60,000, while the winner of the skills competition will be paid $55,000.

Also on a positive note, payments for the WNBA All-Star Game will likely increase after a new collective bargaining agreement is negotiated this year.

The players’ union opted out of the current deal last October and has until this coming October to negotiate a new deal.

The WNBA is also set to enter an 11-year, $2.2 billion media rights deal in 2026, which should translate to better salaries across the board
