Hailee Steinfeld ‘Angers’ Fans of Fiancé Josh Allen’s Bills with Praise for the Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs have become Allen and the Buffalo Bills’ biggest NFL rival in recent years

It took a lot of careful thought, but Hailee Steinfeld was able to find three “nice” things to say about the Kansas City Chiefs — her fiance’s biggest NFL rival.

While appearing on the “Hot Ones Versus” series on Wednesday, April 2, the 28-year-old actress was challenged by her Sinners co-star Michael B. Jordan to compliment the Chiefs, who have become her fiancé Josh Allen and his Buffalo Bills’ constant opponent in recent years.

“Anger the Bills Mafia by saying three nice things about their rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs,” Jordan, 38, challenged Steinfeld during the Sean Evans-led YouTube show, which pits celebrities against one another in a game of truth-or-dare with increasingly spicy hot wings as the players’ penalty.

Steinfeld looked down and shook her head before responding, “I can find nice things to say about anybody, even if I don’t like them — even if we don’t like them.”

The former Pitch Perfect star then listed three half-hearted compliments about the Chiefs and the team’s famously raucous fanbase.

“Yellow and red really complement them all pretty well,” Steinfeld said as Jordan held in his laughter.

“They are very loud,” Steinfeld added, listing her second “nice” thing about the Chiefs. Jordan teased her back, adding, “That’s nice.”

“It’s great, you want that from a fanbase,” Steinfeld sarcastically said.

“And third,” she paused, struggling to come up with another compliment as Jordan laughed.

“They go hard for their team,” Steinfeld concluded.

Steinfeld and Allen, also 28, announced their engagement last November, in one of the first public acknowledgments of their relationship. Rumors that they were dating began when they were spotted together in early 2023.

“I couldn’t be more excited,” Steinfeld told PEOPLE last month, providing a rare glimpse into their relationship. “I’m so happy — we’re so happy — and we’re just soaking in every moment.”

The Bills star proposed to Steinfeld while the couple was on a trip to Malibu, which Steinfeld described in an Instagram post as her “happy place.”

“It was magical,” the actress and singer wrote about their engagement

Steinfeld has been widely embraced by the Bills’ famously loyal fanbase, being dubbed the “Queen” of Buffalo with a billboard celebrating the news about her and Allen’s engagement earlier this year.

The actress has been in attendance for a handful of Allen’s games, cheering on the NFL MVP as he and the Bills look to end the team’s storied Super Bowl drought. Allen and the Bills have been eliminated from the playoffs by Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in four of the last five seasons, including this past season’s nail-biting 32-29 loss at Kansas City in the AFC Championship Game.
