Married for 5 years, but the husband has never seen the bare face of his beautiful wife. Because he was so curious, he lied to his wife that he was going on a business trip for a week. After 3 days, he suddenly returned and saw his wife sitting in front of the dressing table, but her face was…
Married for 5 years, Arjun is always proud of having a beautiful wife like a Bollywood star – Priya.
Her skin is white and smooth, her nose is high, her lips are red and soft like Kashmir roses, and she always smells like she just stepped out of a perfume advertisement.
But there is only one thing that makes Arjun wonder forever:
He has never once seen his wife’s bare face.
At home, she also wears makeup carefully.
When going to bed, she asks to turn off all the lights.
In the morning, she has to go to the bathroom for nearly 30 minutes before coming out with a perfect, flawless face.
Many times, Arjun joked:
“If I saw your real face, I would love you twice as much.”
Priya always avoided him, only answering softly:
“No… You’ll be scared if you look. I don’t want to.”
Arjun initially thought his wife was just shy.
But after 5 years, not once seeing the real face of the person he shared a bed with, his heart began to swell with indescribable doubts.
One day, Arjun came up with a plan.
He lied that the company had sent him on a business trip to Mumbai for a week.
In reality, Arjun only rented a room near Chandni Chowk, quietly observing his wife’s reaction.
On the third day, around 10 p.m., he decided to return unexpectedly.
The small house in New Delhi was completely silent.
The bedroom light was still on.
Arjun cautiously opened the door, stepped in — and froze.
Priya was sitting in front of the dressing table, surrounded by dozens of expensive creams, brushes, powders, glues, silicone pads…
Her face was nothing like the beautiful wife he knew
Skin was wrinkled
Plain patches of skin were scorched
Part of the skin was peeling off, revealing the pink flesh underneath
Half her face was made of thin silicone, sliding down
Priya was trembling, applying each mask to her cheeks, applying foundation, redrawing each line – as if trying to create a new face.
Arjun was frightened, exclaiming:
“Priya… what are you doing?!”
She turned around.
The face was half real – half artificial, one side sagging like a wax statue melting in the hot sun.
Tears rolled down the cracked silicone.
Priya whispered:
“You shouldn’t have come back… I’m sorry…”
Priya hiccupped, her voice broken, trembling as she said:
“Five years ago… I was in a car accident and the gas tank in the kitchen exploded. The doctor said I was lucky to be alive.
My face was disfigured… I was afraid that if you knew… you would leave me. So I used a silicone mask, temporary surgery… for five years.”
Arjun was stunned.
In the small room, the strong smell of cosmetics and the woman’s sobs made his heart tighten.
Priya still tried to pick up the silicone to stick it back on:
“Let me fix it… so you won’t be scared…”
Arjun walked over and held her hand.
He said softly, his voice trembling but full of certainty:
“That’s enough, Priya.
I don’t marry this face.
I marry who you are.”
Priya burst into tears, her tears mixing with the melting cream, creating smudges on her cheeks.
The clock in the living room chimed 12 midnight.
And for the first time in 5 years of marriage,
Arjun saw his real wife.
No makeup.
No mask.
Just a woman who was hurt but still loved him with all her heart.
After the night Arjun discovered the truth, the small house in New Delhi was filled with a heavy atmosphere.
Priya hid in her room, avoiding her husband’s eyes.
Arjun sat in the living room all night, thinking frantically.
He did not blame her.
But the pain she had carried alone for 5 years made his heart ache.
The next morning, Priya quietly packed her things and was about to return to her mother’s house, but near the door she heard a commotion.
Her mother-in-law – Mrs. Savita – and Priya’s parents were there.
No one knew who informed her, but the news of “Priya’s true face being exposed” had spread to them too quickly.
Mrs. Savita stared at Priya, her voice sharp as a knife:
“You have deceived my family for 5 years? I let you into my house because I thought you were beautiful and virtuous.
It turns out you only have a beautiful nature, but your face… is artificial?!”
Priya bowed her head, her lips trembling.
Arjun stepped forward to block his wife:
“Mom! Don’t say that. You—”
Savita snapped:
“Shut up!
Arjun, she’s hiding it like that and you’re still defending her?
This woman has deceived you, deceived our whole family!”
Priya’s parents also burst into tears, holding their daughter’s hands:
“Our daughter has suffered enough… please don’t push her to the end.”
The atmosphere was tense as a string.
Priya knelt down and cried:
“I’m sorry…
Because of this face, I was abandoned by my ex-fiancé, laughed at by my relatives…
I’m afraid… afraid that Arjun will be like them.”
Arjun’s hands trembled as he helped his wife stand up:
“Priya, don’t say that.
You didn’t deceive me. You just hid your own suffering.”
He turned to everyone:
“Mom, I love Priya for who she is.
Not for her makeup.
Not for her mask.
If you still value me, please respect my wife.”
The whole family was silent.
Arjun had never raised his voice to his mother like that.
Mrs. Savita was so angry that she blushed, but did not say another word.
That afternoon, Arjun took Priya to a private hospital where he knew a doctor.
The doctor looked at the records and said:
“Priya’s face can be reconstructed to about 60–70%, but it will require many surgeries.
Are you two ready? It will hurt. It will take time.
And there is no guarantee that she will become as ‘beautiful’ as before the accident.”
Priya was silent.
She looked down at her trembling hands.
Arjun held her hand:
“Priya, the decision is yours.
You don’t need to be beautiful to be loved.
But you have the right to return to the life you want.”
Priya choked:
“If I have surgery… it’s for myself.
Not for anyone else.”
At night, Priya stood in front of the mirror in the bedroom, removed all the silicone, saw:
a face that had been burned
a face full of scars
tired but sincere eyes
She touched her red face and whispered:
“Do I have the courage… to live for real?”
Arjun walked in, gently hugged from behind:
“Priya… You can choose surgery.
Or choose to live without hiding anything anymore.
I stand with you in every choice.”
Priya shed tears.
For the first time in many years, she no longer felt alone.
The next morning, Priya emerged from her room with…
no makeup. No mask. No silicone.
The whole family was stunned.
Priya said, her voice stronger than ever:
“I will have surgery.
But not to look pretty for anyone to see.
I will do it because I want to live a life I don’t have to hide from anymore.”
Arjun smiled.
Mother-in-law was silent, but no longer scolding.
Priya’s parents hugged their daughter tightly, relieved after years of pain.
Priya took Arjun’s hand:
“Thank you… for seeing me.”
Outside, the New Delhi sun spread down as if signaling a new journey —
painful, difficult, but free and true.
