Caitlin Clark has taken heat in the past for how drama seems to follow her—even when she’s not the one starting it. A recent example was the so-called “Barbie Brawl” involving Fever teammates Sophie Cunningham, Jacy Sheldon, and Marina Mabrey during Indiana’s 88-71 win over the Connecticut Sun.
But during the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup win over the Minnesota Lynx, Clark showed she could handle awkward moments with poise.
In a now-viral Instagram Live clip from Sydney Colson, Clark was seen celebrating with her teammates in the locker room. As she leaned forward to read fan comments, Colson playfully humped her from behind. The moment sparked mixed reactions online—some found it funny, others thought it crossed a line. Clark didn’t escalate it. She simply shifted away and let it slide.
Jason Whitlock and Steve Kim didn’t see the humor. On Thursday’s episode of Fearless, they called out Colson while praising Clark’s response.
“Sydney Colson made a mistake here, and I like the way Caitlin Clark handled that and shut that down instantly,” Whitlock said.
Kim didn’t hold back either: “I get the sense that that’s not Caitlin’s type. It’s bad enough to get jostled by your opponents to this degree—now by your own teammates? Oh, God.”
He added, “Every bad stereotype that you think of this league ends up coming to fruition.
“You Don’t Have to Do Everything”: Teammate Reminds Caitlin Clark to Ease the Load
While Caitlin Clark continues to recover from a groin injury, her presence is still felt—both in games and behind the scenes. And now, even her teammates are reminding her that she doesn’t have to carry the whole franchise on her back.

In an episode of Bird’s Eye View with WNBA legend Sue Bird, Indiana forward Natasha Howard shared her advice for Clark.
“Everybody knows she can shoot the heck out the ball. And she can pass,” Howard said. “But just letting her know you don’t have to do everything like you had to do in Iowa.”
Howard added, “You have great teammates and phenomenal players around you… Give us some of your pressure, too.”
