Caitlin Clark is sidelined for the Indiana Fever through injury, but the WNBA star remains a huge supporter of the Indiana Pacers and assistant coach Jenny Boucek

Caitlin Clark shared a heartfelt tribute to Indiana Pacers assistant coach Jenny Boucek with an endearing social media post.

While sidelined due to injury, the Fever’s star player is showing her support for the Pacers as they compete in the NBA Finals against Oklahoma City. That Hoosier family includes Jenny Boucek, the trailblazing mother who balances motherhood with her NBA coaching duties.

Highlighting Boucek’s dual role, Clark posted an ESPN NBA collage featuring a snapshot of Boucek and her daughter, Rylie, with a loving caption: “NBA Finals is a family affair for coach Jenny Bueck [heart emoji].”

In solidarity, Clark’s boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, re-shared the touching post on his Instagram page. The duo has been an item since their days at the University of Iowa, where both made their mark playing for the Hawkeyes.

Their relationship became public in August 2023, a few months after they got together. McCaffery, 26, is estimated to have a net worth of $1.5 million, reports Sportskeeda, after transitioning into coaching, initially with the Pacers as Basketball Development Coordinator.

Recently, he stepped up as an assistant coach for the Butler Bulldogs of Indianapolis, which compete in the Big East Conference. His dad, Fran McCaffery, is a respected former Butler coach who was recently appointed men’s head coach at the University of Pennsylvania.

McCaffery has been a solid rock for Clark, who’s been riding the bench since May 24 due to a quad injury suffered during a game against the New York Liberty.

Fever head coach Stephanie White has shared an cautiously optimistic update on her key player after she returned to light practice. White said: “It’s never a one-person decision. It’s certainly meeting with the medical staff and understanding where she is. The most important thing for us is to not position ourselves to have any setbacks.

“And so what she’s been doing is some on-the-court workouts, and she got into a little bit of practice in a controlled environment, and we’ll continue to build on that.

“Getting workouts outside of practice is one thing. Getting back into game flow, rhythm, timing, movement patterns, getting up and down the floor is a completely different thing. So that ramp-up stage is more practice time, and fortunately, we’re able to get it this week.”

Clark’s enforced downtime is more than just a personal setback; it’s hit the WNBA hard too. USA Today reports that viewership has plummeted by 55 per cent in her absence.
